We Need Your Help!

Dear Friends & Supporters,

There is nothing more difficult for me personally than to ask people for help. I was brought up in a generation that avoided asking for help almost as a matter of principle. But the Lord has taught me over the 20+ years we have been in full time mission work, and even before that back to 1962 when my family first came out to Micronesia, that sometimes we need to choke back our pride and ask when we are in need. I want to thank many of you who have supported our family and the Lord's work here in the island, in some cases, for decades. All I can do is rely on the Lord to reward you for your faithfulness in prayer and giving. With a heavy heart I want you to be aware of our circumstances at present. Our support level at the mission has been declining in recent years and because of that we have run up a deficit there. In order to pay down our debt to the mission they are now sending us $300. less each month. We were already very tight in our finances before this recent development, but now we are in a critical situation. We are down to having about one month's funds to pay our bills next month. The Lord has been providing our needs and I have been saving every extra penny. We have reduced our payments to the minimum and we, as a family, are doing everything we can to earn extra money each month. We have sold off a number of things lately and are running out of things to sell. But it is not enough. We are going to need your help again. This work has been steadily growing and people are growing in the Lord and are much more able to tackle difficult issues in their families, churches and community. We do not want to quit this work, and in fact have no idea what we would do if we did have to quit. I know these are tough economic times for everyone. I do not ask for your help lightly. But I wanted to lay out the fact that our financial situation is critical at this point. I am hoping that by the end of this year we will have paid down our debt at the mission and they will be able to resume sending us what we need to pay our bills here. I am also hoping more churches and individuals will commit to supporting us through the mission. But until that happens we are going to need some help.

Please continue to pray for the possibility of my speaking at a conference for youth and men in the Marshall islands. Please continue to pray for Mike and Cassie as they are struggling and homeless in CA right now. Pray that they can find work. It is very hard for me not to be able to help them financially but we are in no position to do so at the moment and can only pray that the Lord will provide for them. Please pray that Fudge, Carissa's husband can find full time employment here, where the jobless rate continues to rise. Thank you for praying for Juanita in her hospital visitation. Please continue to pray for Josiah who continues to struggle with home schooling. Pray that I will be able to accomplish everything the Lord sets before me, which is sometimes overwhelming.

The Lord is good and I praise Him for His provision.

Ps 106:1 Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures for ever.

In His love,
Sandy Simpson & family
