Wishing you a blessed Christimas!

Dear Supporters & Friends,

Christmas blessings from our family to you and yours this season!

We want to start out by thanking you for your faithful support in finances and prayer. The Lord continues to bless our ministry with Micronesian islanders. We have more people attending our studies than ever, in fact many times we don’t have room in our 15-passenger and 8-passenger vans to pick up the ones who are unable to drive themselves. The number of island pastors who have been attending our studies has increased lately and we know they are using our materials. In our last study one of the families who come to our studies brought enough food to feed all of us … Queen Seagull of the Ebeye islands with her husband Morrison are here on island for medical reasons for an extended period. We also have an increase in the number of Marshallese in our studies. Many of them are Bethania alumni.

In personal news: Rose continues to be a blessing to her Kindergarten class at Pearl Harbor Christian Academy. Carissa is still working for the Bank of Hawaii, currently as their business teller. Her husband Fudge works teaching at a charter school in Waianae that has a large population of Hawaiians. Cassie is in California working and still planning to continue her college education. Josiah is in 10th grade home school and works part-time four days a week at the school where Rose teaches. I have been working on video projects lately, keeping up with my web sites, preparing Bible studies and writing messages I will be sharing in a couple of local churches.

We covet your prayers at this time. Juanita and I both lost a significant portion of our retirement funds in the recent stock market “crash”, as many others have. This is much more difficult for mom since it is her main source of income. We are praying that the Lord will provide for our needs as we face an uncertain future, as He always has. The Lord led us here and we have seen many people become believers and/or grow to Christian maturity as a result. We hope to continue to do this ministry as the Lord allows. We also realize that many people have been supporting us above and beyond the call of duty. We are thankful everyday for that. Be in prayer for many Christian ministries during this time, as finances have or will become an issue.

I want to leave you with a Christmas prayer I ran across that expresses my thoughts of thankfulness:

Father God, When your precious Son became a tiny baby in a stable in Bethlehem in poverty and simplicity, you changed our world. As we imagine those surroundings, we join with the shepherds and the wise men in wonder and praise. We thank you for our material lives, praise you for our spiritual lives, and trust in you for our eternal life. Amen.

With love,
Sandy Simpson and family

A praise report regarding my discernment web site.

Dear All,

I received the following letter from someone who has been rescued out of false Christianity. I have removed her name to protect her identity as reprisals are common among these groups. I get a lot of letters from people who have realized they have been deceived by false teachers, but after having gone through what this lady describes I can only praise the Lord that He rescued her from such a dire situation.

Dear Mr. Simpson,

I would like to share with you that I am just now coming out of the false teachings of Latter Rain theology. I have been a member of a MorningStar {Rick Joyner} congregation for 13 years. I was an "intercessor" in my church for 13 years and led and trained other intercessors in "Spiritual Warfare" techniques perpetrated by Peter Wagner and Cindy Jacobs and all the rest of them. I was one of the false teachers. Sept 14, 2008 I walked out of my former congregation never to return. My former pastor has used guilt and condemnation and manipulation to try and make me continue to believe the false teachings. I could literally write a book on the deception that we are spoon fed a little at a time, year after year.

I have two garbage bags full of books, 60 so far that are now in the garbage waiting to be picked up tomorrow morning. I was indoctrinated into the deception. Being an avid reader I love books. The only problem is I was going to hell in a hand basket and none the wiser. Deception In The Church website has been a lifeline to me during this trying time. I literally thought that I was going to go insane. Everything that I have based my life on these last 13 years is false. I was a leader and a member of the highest standing in my former congregation. I was there 3 times a week, year in and year out. I was the poster child of my church.

I am ordering the (New Apostolic Reformation) DVD because I have to renew my mind on the truth of the scripture. My former pastor actually told me that, "Not all teaching has to line up with the Bible." We were having a heated discussion about Rick Joyner's teachings at the time. I answered and said, "I live my life by what the Bible says and for me it has to line up." As I said I could write a book about the twisting and lies.

Thank you for your service to the body of Christ. You are literally saving souls who are being led down a path of no return unless they find out the truth. God bless you and keep you.

Be encouraged that your support and prayers for the apologetics I am doing are paying off. Please continue to pray that God will grant more and more people repentance (2 Tim. 2:25). He is the God who rescues (Is. 46:4).

August Update

First of all I want to thank our financial supporters. We continue to see an increase in our support level. We are still in need of a further boost in our support, but we are slowly getting to where we should be. Thank you especially for your prayers. We have had many opportunities for ministry lately and our Bible studies have been very full. Both Juanita and I have had speaking opportunities at a local church.

I would like to recount for you a situation that just happened. One of our study attendees, a pastor who is now an invalid and being cared for by his wife who continues to be a regular at our Bible studies, had a relative recently die of cancer. We had been praying for her and Juanita has been visiting this pastor and his wife regularly sharing a Bible study with them. I also visit when I can. I have been sending the current study I am doing on forgiveness home to him through his wife. There has been years of tension and trouble between his family and the family of the relative who just died. At the memorial he shared with them from my study about the need for forgiveness among the two clans. They were able to come together and forgive one another and that relationship between the clans has been restored. This news was an encouragement to me that the lessons the Lord led me to put together, which are now also in book form, have been a blessing to many. I believe this subject is hitting home with many others. I hope the lessons and book will be a help to many in this area of the world who struggle with this issue.

Please continue to pray for our family and ministry. When you are on the front lines for the Lord you need a support team back home. We cannot do this without you. Thank you for your support and encouragement.

In His hands,
Sandy Simpson

Simpson News - May 2008

Finances

I know some of you have been waiting to hear where our support level is at the moment. I want to start by thanking our many supporting individuals and churches for coming to our aid. Our monthly support is now almost to the level it needs to be! The Lord has been so good to us. I am writing this report to ask those who support us to prayerfully continue the level of support you have been sending into the mission for us, and to ask those who have not yet come on board our financial support team to consider doing so. We had many donations sent in at the beginning of 2008 and are hoping that through both donations and pledged monthly support we will be able to meet our monthly goals and also pay down the debt we have at the mission for the shortfall of the past few years. I am very grateful for many of you who have given sacrificially to the work we are doing with Micronesians. It means a lot to us.

Family Visit

We were blessed to have a 10-day visit from my sister Angela and brother-in-law Steve Leuice. It was a good time of fellowship together. They attended our Bible studies and were able to see some old friends and meet others. We were also able to have some extended family get-togethers. Please be in prayer for their church ministry in Camino, CA.
Following are some updates on our ministry and how people are being helped.

Helped In Prayer & Counseling

From Juanita: It was difficult to watch Kyle, an 18-year-old Marshallese, slowly sink. He was dying of leukemia. I visited him twice a week at the hospital on the other side of Honolulu. He was not always coherent because of the heavy drugs they were giving him. I spoke to him of the need to give his heart to Christ and prepare to meet Him. Sometimes I sang to him. I did my best to comfort his grieving parents who were usually there with him. A young man of few words, he said to me at one visit, “Thank you so very much for everything!” One day he told his mother who was crying, “Don’t cry, Mother. I am OK and know now where I’m going.” I believe he came to faith in Christ during those weeks. It was a privilege for me to give the message at his funeral at the request of his parents.

From Juanita: Pastor Aikawa from Chuuk is on his bed in their apartment downtown. He is a severe diabetic who has lost the use of his feet. Accustomed to being greatly involved in the life of his church, he is suffering loneliness and disappointment, as well as the embarrassment of wearing a diaper and needing to be cleaned up by his wife and niece. He and his wife Yusta call me often to ask for prayer or to tell me about their latest family or health problems. Pastor Aikawa looks forward to my weekly visit when I take a plate of fruit or baked goods and spend some time in fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Pray that his spirit will remain strong as his body weakens.

From Juanita: I visit Grace each Sunday at the nursing home where she lives. She is from Ailinglapalap in the Marshalls. Grace has had a stroke that paralyzed one side. Recently they have found spots on her back and brain, for which they gave radiation treatments. Raised a Catholic, she has limited knowledge of the scripture. Cathleen, her cousin, gave her a Bible and now she is eager each week for the short Bible Study I do with her. She is learning where to look for the various passages, finds them with her one good hand, and marks them as we go along. I praise the Lord for His work in her life.

At the writing of this newsletter we had a Chuukese lady come over to our house who is concerned with witchcraft in her family. Please pray for her and for us as we sometimes are called to counsel people on this subject.

Helped In Bible Studies

I finished my series on the Seven Letters in Revelation and currently Juanita is teaching through the book of Daniel. The amazing prophecies of Daniel have encouraged and strengthened the faith of many in our Bible studies. It is amazing how the Lord showed us the kingdoms of the earth, which would come and are coming, hundreds and thousands of years before their fulfillment. He also showed Himself to be One God with more than one person in the Godhead (Dan. 7:13). Our meetings have been packed recently. I had 19 people in my 15-passenger van one evening, which was kind of scary. But the Lord is blessing us. We have had a number of visitors from off-island recently at our studies.

Helped In Preaching

Both Juanita and I have recently had the opportunity to speak in a local church. Juanita taught a two-part series on Jonah. I taught the first of a two-part series on some of the current trends and false teachings in the churches. I will preach the second part of that message in August 2008. Some of our Palauan friends also attended the services as the church we spoke at was in their area. Many people told us they were blessed by our preaching and personally helped.

Helped To Be More Discerning

Following are a selection of emails from the past month by those who have been helped by my web sites and my responding emails. I get many good reports each month from Micronesia and beyond on how the information I have provided on the web has helped them.

Dear Sandy Simpson, Thank you so much for your response concerning the Todd Bentley Revival In Lakeland Florida... Seems like you've seen this error before and are very familiar with it... After my email to you I searched your site further and read some materials on those he's associated with... So many of our brethren are enamored with the sensational experiences people are having not realizing the deception therein... Blessings and Prayers for your continued search for the truth, a watchman, and sharing what the lord shows you with others who are also searching for truth...In Him... N. C. G.

I want to send a note of thanks for providing this website. My husband and I were attending a church that believes in all the gifts, signs & wonders experiences and all that is shown on GOD TV. One of the practices that disturbed me was "soaking" that one lady learned at a Toronto Airport Conference gathering. … Having been involved with the occult before I was saved (astrology & such things), it made me rather uneasy. I know it could only come from two sources. … It is important to me that I live in truth. A.C., England

Heads up for doing a wonderful job in being a true pastor/shepherd- defending the flock from wolves, deceivers and hucksters. … Australia is being plagued by the big churches doctrines- they channel big names through their conferences and endorse faulty teachings where average Christians take hook line and sinker. … Once again, your site is great. God bless! J. E., Australia

Thanks so much for your website. I only just found it today through a crazy maze of googling and following links from other sites. I must admit to being misled for a time by the Elijah List and various "ministries" featured there. …I have only been on your site about ten minutes and I am already refreshed and encouraged. Thank you for the obvious time and effort you have invested. … R.

Thank you for all your hard work on this subject, it is a burden, I just hate this stuff, especially the spiritual warfare techniques in those books they have on their site and beyond, their council increases peoples hurt confusion, and damages them. The Peter Wagner training, railing against powers, is growing not just in the established church but outside … J.

Dear Sandy, Finally someone is starting to expose the NOLR hub of prophetic … known as Elijahlist!!! … I think that we as Christians when we interface with others who claim to be Christians … need to spell out what we mean by "worship and prayer" as many NOLR leaders have at least one second covert meaning for the same term!!! …W. M., U of Minnesota

Sandy, May the Lord bless you with this important endeavor. What evil has been coming from that (ElijahList). They have no fear of God, shamelessly marketing the church. Sandy, I support you fully with your exposing the unfruitful works of darkness. … B. A.

There is much deception in the Body of Christ and drawing a plumb line from an apologetic Biblical point of view is certainly one way to do it. … I love your disclaimer it shows that you want the truth and says none of us has a market on the truth we can only point to scripture and share what we think it means. I suspect sometimes you guys feel like John the Baptist a voice crying in the wilderness as it seems people are like sheep to the slaughter so easily persuaded with so little effort from so many. Keep up the good work. …Sincerely, C. E., Waco, Texas

Thank you for your fantastic web site and I would be so grateful to receive your newsletter. I am so very concerned about being deceived as a young Christian. In my own church I believe there is false teaching going on and I am not sure how to tackle this. Many thanks again and may the Lord bless your ministry. … S.

Hi, I recently got your DVDs "The New Apostalic Reformation" it was a real eye opener for me. I recently left my present church, which has been getting quite involved with the prophetic movement for sometime now. … My now ex pastor is starting to preach Kingdom Dominon. … Just wanted to say what a great set of DVD's and hope you produce more. … Sincerely, C. S.
Hello, I had bookmarked your site years ago and find myself going in and out of it on a regular basis. Great job being done by you. … Sincerely, J. H., Canada

Hello and good day, Just a quick note to thank you for all your excellent articles. I've been going to the site for some time now ... God bless you and yours, … M., Eph 6:10-18

Hi Sandy, The "word of faith" movement has concerned me for quite some time, but I have only recently become aware of how widespread it has become in the Church. Thank you for making this information available. God bless, L. W.

Dear Sandy, I'm C. C. and I'm from Singapore. I've been reading your website for quite a while and I must really thank the Lord for your faithfulness and perseverance in the maintaining, researching and writing to contribute to the speaking of the truth today. … Many thanks and God bless you! … love, C. C.

Dear Brother Sandy, Warm Greetings in Jesus Name! My name is A. G. I am married with two children. I am 37 years old and have been in ministry since 1987. I am a pastor and lecturer at a Bible Seminary in Durban, South Africa. 95% of our students come from previously disadvantaged communities. I also lead a pastors fellowship, where about 25 pastors meet every month. I was recently asked to address a pastors conference in Durban. My subject was the core teachings of the NAR. I really had trouble with this and with the assistance of a friend, I was able to present something of the root teachings of the NAR. I must confess, I really had a challenge. Why Am I writing to YOU? I was made aware of a set of six DVD's that are available on the subject. I contacted Moriel Ministries in Johannesburg, South Africa. I am appealing to you for your help in this regard. I am very concerned about the influence of the NAR (although in different forms) in South Africa. Can you please help me with a set of the six DVD's? Your response will be highly appreciated Thanking you in anticipation … Dear Sandy, Thank you for your favourable response and kind gesture. It is really greatly appreciated. I look forward to receiving the DVD's. I will definitely use your gift to enhance my life, ministry and that of our pastors and students at the Bible Seminary. Thanks Again, A. G., SOUTH AFRICA

Dear brother Sandy, Greetings in Jesus name. I really do appreciate your promptness in answering my questions. Thank you very much. The Lord our GOD bless you and your ministries, bro. S.

Shalom in Messiah Sandy! I just had to drop you a note to thank you again for your great work for the Kingdom. I have just downloaded the ELIJAH LIST teaching, and I cannot thank you enough for your sound editorial. I just wanted to encourage you a bit, and say keep it up! Jesus is proud of you! Watching and Praying with you, E. M. just a PS...I did want to thank you that these wonderful and useful apologetic materials and articles are FREE. While on Elijah List, if you want a prophecy for 2008, you have to pay $70+ ... that is the first thing that I thought was weird about their policies... thank you for offering your Spirit-given insights for free!

It looks good thanks to your faithfulness!

Dear Friends, Supporters & Family,

I have been checking my account at the mission anxious to know how the Lord has answered prayer for us regarding our financial situation. At this point it looks very encouraging. We had a large amount of monthly support and gifts from December through February. Praise the Lord! I am waiting to make a formal announcement here and possibly in a paper newsletter till the end of this month and until we can determine that enough monthly support has been raised. Keep praying for us. The mission work here has been going well. A number of old friends have come through Hawaii lately and we have had a blessed time with them. The Bible studies continue to be well attended. There have been a number of funerals here lately, as there always seem to be, and Juanita was invited to be the main speaker at one of them. Pray for the widows left behind. Pray for the local Micronesian churches here that the Lord will work in them and through them to reach more people for Christ. Pray for protection, particularly for our Chuukese folks because there has lately been renewed inter-island violence here that threatens their homes and families.

This has just been a quick note to let you know what is going on with us. Thanks so much for you continues prayers and support for us. I cannot tell you what a blessing it has been from the Lord through YOU!

In His hands,
Sandy Simpson

2007 Simpson News

Cassie is Home!

Cassie made it home for the holidays! Shortly after arriving she learned she had passed all of her finals. Please keep her in prayer as she adjusts to the academic and spiritual challenges of college life. It’s been great to have her here.

Still Teaching…

I am in my thirteenth year teaching Kindergarten. Hard to believe! Here you see some of my blessings doing the ‘Shaka’ (hang loose sign). I have twenty kids at Pearl Harbor Christian academy this year. The Lord has really been good to me in allowing me to work at such a great school with wonderful staff and parents. I do have my challenges, but with the Lord’s wisdom and strength I hope I can make a positive difference in children’s lives.

Excuse me while I ‘brag’ that all of my students are reading and many are reading well beyond my expectations!

Singing at the Sick Houses

We did our annual singing and sharing goodies and a message at three Micronesian sick houses here on Oahu; Chuuk House, Palau House and RMI House (Marshall Islands) Many are here from their home islands for surgery or other medical reasons. My heart was touched by the two little babies at Chuuk house. One had a severe mouth deformity. Please keep the sick Micronesians in your prayers as they undergo treatments here.

We will resume our biweekly Bible Studies with the Micronesians next week. Sandy and Juanita alternate studies. Sandy is currently doing a study on forgiveness. Sandy also keeps busy with various ministries both on and off line as well as writing books!

Carissa has been working at the Bank of Hawaii for a couple of years. This has been a good opportunity for her but she is also looking at different options for the future.

Carissa and her husband of two and a half years both sing on the worship team at church. They both have beautiful voices! We have been attending Waipio Grace Brethren since our Youth Pastor from Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor took over the ministry there. We still keep in touch with Calvary and attend there occasionally.

It is nice that Carissa works so close to my school and often comes over to have lunch with me.

Josiah

Where did my little boy go??? Josiah is 15 and has just started working part time at my school doing janitor and maintenance work. His supervisor says he is an excellent worker and gets the job done quickly and well. It’s nice for Josiah to have some spending money and also to be able to put some away.

Josiah continues to do well with home schooling under Sandy’s supervision.

My Dad

Many of you have prayed for my Dad, Walt, over the years. Please continue as he is having a very difficult time. Quite a while back the Dr. said he only had thirteen percent of one lung working. He has since become worse. The picture below shows my brother Roger, Dad and myself in March. I hope it will be possible for me to see him again. Roger has offered to bring Cassie up to Alaska over her spring break. None of the kids have been up there for several years. Hopefully that works out.

I am thankful Roger lives close and can visit Dad. Dad appreciates it when I can tell him people are praying for him.

Apologies
Please forgive me (Rose) for being so lousy about keeping in touch. I often think and pray for family and friends but just don’t write. Know that we do appreciate hearing from you! I am personally a little better with e-mail…

On a side note, I would love to hear from relatives who could contribute information or pictures to my genealogy research.
